Winners of the 2017 National "Musicology Batlle of the Bands" held at Prince's Paisley Park and judged by members of his band The New Power Generation, Black Alley beat 150 bands from across the country.  Birthed in Southeast DC, Black Alley is known for pushing the art of music to its rhythmic limits. Determined to create a unique musical elixir, Black Alley takes the finest ingredients of Trap, Rock & Go - Go, to create their own genre-bending sound called #HoodRock. Each band member surrenders to the union of sounds, making each musician essential to the workability and funkability of the collective, known as Black Alley.  They've shared the stage with Ed Sheeran, Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, Common, Rob Garza of Thievery Corporation, Wale, Living Colour, Goldlink, Doug E Fresh and many more.
