The SHFT is a Los Angeles band founded by Trinidad James and Tony DeNiro. James broke out with the Platinum hit “All Gold Everything,” signed with Def Jam, co-wrote Mark Ronson’s “Uptown Funk,” and has since written for Kehlani, City Girls and Flo Milli. DeNiro, a music producer who also co-founded the live-streaming platform Pheed, has worked with artists from Buffalo’s Griselda circle, including Benny the Butcher, Conway the Machine, ElCamino and Black Soprano Family. Together they’ve built a band that is hip-hop at its core with live funk in its veins, introduced with 2025’s “HUSTLE” and 2026’s “Feels Right,” featuring Sevyn Streeter, Stacy Barthe and Tish Hyman.
